Swimming Pool? at Swimming Pool Supplies
Deb asked:

I am wanting to purchase a swimming pool for my grandchildren.
Easy set-up 3-4ft. deep, here’s the problem. Our house is located on a hill, the only flat place is on our deck. The deck is not really the idea place, worried with the weight. Is there an easy solution,or would the deck be ok? Any other suggestions would help, thanks

If the deck is built right, it can hold the weight. I did the same thing with my deck. However, I built my own deck, so I knew it could hold the weight. Generally, if there are 2×6 joists and 4×4 beams at least every 16″ to 24″ apart, you shouldn’t have any problem.

    1 Gallon of water = 8.35 pounds

multiply that by the number of gallons of the pool + the weight of the people who will be using it at one time. This will give you a rough estimate.

Why not build an add on to the deck, just a platform, for the pool. That way, you won’t lose the functionality of the deck itself.

if there is no place to put it at then there is no point in purchasing a pool. why not just bring them to a REC center

If you do not use the deck, which by the way is really not the ideal place, then you will have to get sand and level off a place to put the pool. A bit more work but a much better idea.

If the Pool has a large diameter I wouldn’t trust the weight on a deck.
